Eminent Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation is a registered non-partisan CBO/NGO in the area of community development and capacity building with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria. We have a pool of experienced resource persons to work with and our past activities as regards this proposed action speak volumes.
We have been promoting the principle of care and support for community members’ well-being and fostering the spirit of mutual support within the context of sustainable human right and development scheme through awareness creation, training and advocacy, including other helpful strategic approaches. ECHF works strategically to eliminate daily rampant of TB disease in Nigeria under the TB Network in Nigeria. Through Global Fund project, we were able to conduct free testing of TB patients and referred them to treatment centers. ECHF Governing Board The Governing Board is made up of 6 prominent personalities, comprising of 4 males and 2 females.
The choice is spread across diverse professions areas like Education, Health, Law, Economics and Development. The Management Staff is made up of 5 principal staff who take programmatic decisions and it is headed by the Executive Director, who is also serves as the Secretary of the Governing Board during their meetings. We also have 6 Program Officers including about 50 volunteers. Our strategies include awareness creation, advocacy, counselling and collaboration with other NGOs/CSOs. EHCF also conducts training on water and sanitation issues, and runs a leadership programs for youths. One of our thematic areas is the provision of portable water to rural communities.
ECHF enjoys the support of professional Drillers and Water experts, we have engaged ourselves in this field for more than 7 years now. Under this section, we have 2 volunteer Geologists that always render their assistance in terms of surveying water belt before drilling of water borehole. We continued to consolidate our work on improving the lives of those living in Osun State and entire South West of Nigeria. Because of us, more children are going to school, receiving two warm meals per day and basic health care. More women have been socio-economically empowered through small-loans and more young people have been supported to receive basic skills or vocational training. We have also reached out more widely to the whole community through our health club and regular trainings on various topics.
